A Little Slice of Heaven

I love days like this...hanging out in one of my favorite rooms (because it's quiet! LOL), with the windows open and a beautiful Southern breeze coming in. I can hear lawnmowers going (thankfully, not mine! LOL), and dogs barking and birds singing. I can hear the leaves in the trees as the wind blows through and little airplanes as they pass overhead. It's very relaxing since it's just me and the dog for the moment. It's just a teensy slice of heaven for me.

Oops!

Oops! What, you say? What is oops? After all...isn't this just a picture of my bay window with a toy (or several) on the seat? Yeah, at first glance, that's what it is....until you get to this picture...

this is my ceiling where the blinds USED to hang. Now the blinds are resting comfortably on my dining room table. EVERYTHING came down...the blinds AND the thingies in the ceiling that held them there.

I have no idea what happened. Really. I mean, Katie WAS trying to open the blinds and I did have a thought the split second before they fell that "gee, she seems to be pulling rather hard on those", but I sure didn't think she was pulling hard enough to rip them out of the ceiling. She's 7 for heaven's sake!

Guess this means a (yet another) call to my dad, because I have no idea the best way to fix this and God bless him, my dad is the BOMB when it comes to stuff like this. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him.

Argh!

Creative Team Happiness

Several weeks ago, I was selected to be part of Amy Sumrall's creative team at thedigichick and I am way excited! She made me part of her hybrid team, which is something new for me, so wish me luck!

Anyway, one of the requirements for this CT is that I post layouts/projects that I make with her kits. Check back often during the next few months as I hope to have lots and lots and lots of stuff to post! Here are a couple to get this started!

Having a LOT of FUN!

My brother-in-law is an aspiring photographer. He's set up a studio in his home, complete with backdrops and cool lighting. This evening we were at his house for dinner and afterwards, Katie agreed to be my model so I could play around. Here are the results, and I have to be honest.

It was a BLAST!

This is the first time I've ever had a chance to take pictures like this, and you can be sure I'll do it again. Thankfully, several people at work are interested in having me take some pics of their kids, which works since my two aren't the most willing of subjects!

Cool Book/Cooler Layouts

I bought a book the other day (Digital Designs 2 for Scrapbooking) by Renee Pearson. She does a great job of explaining how to make your own digital products, such as papers and embellishments. She also explains how to create brushes and masks.

One of the really cool things (I think) that she explained was how to add a picture to the background of your page. Here are my attempts, which I think turned out fairly well.
